I am a British landscape painter, working from my studio located in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. I primarily work with oil paint on canvas creating original, atmospheric, impressionist and semi-abstract paintings of landscapes and seascapes. I love painting big bold atmospheric skies. I love seeing how the ever changing skies and cloudsapes create different light effects, colours and moods and I try to express not only the place, but how it felt being there in that moment, rather than making a true representation. I use brushes and palette knives, amongst other tools, for the bolder, impasto texture in my work.
I also enjoy experimenting with a variety of other mediums (e.g., acrylic and watercolour paints, inks, pastels and charcoal) in my sketchbooks or when painting outside. However, I do prefer to paint in oils plein air like the impressionists. Painting outside it's such a lovely way to spend the day.

Commissions are welcome.
I love to see the places that light you up and that you connect with, but please be aware of the extended drying times required for oil paint.
I am also offering workshops now, so do get in touch if you're interested.
